Painful underarm

Hi everyone, i have had total lymph node removal and wider excision 5 weeks ago. My underarm still feels tender assuming nerve damage and numb at the same time, but also feels swellings, my nurse advised to massage the area, any suggestions on this, as its very tender. Is this lymphodaema will this ease?

Yes, I know exactly what you mean does feel very strange doesn't it. I'm feeling like a pin cushion at the moment, bruised and battered, had a scan today too in preparation for radiotherapy to begin. I'm exhausted tonight, hope you're recovery goes well x

I have fluid collected under my arm and above my mastectomy incision 2 and a half weeks ago. This morning is the first time I am (so far) free of pain. Been told they're not keen to drain again as my body needs to deal with it. Anyone else having the same?
