Hi, I’m due to have the five day radiotherapy treatment next week and have been told by my breast care nurse to moisturise a week before with E45. However, my oncologist has recommended Aveeno. Does anyone have any recommendations on which is best please. Also, should I moisturise on the morning of the treatment and is lotion or cream best?
I found e45 lotion was really good and it soaked into my skin quickly, it's not perfumed so no irritation, I found aveeno was good but it left my skin a little wet and took a while to dry, I think it's a personal choice, best of luck xxx
Thank you. I used Aveeno today (my first day). I also have the E45 lotion and cream ready. Radiologist said I could use either. I also have the Aloe Vera but, interestingly, he said not to use that as it can irritate the skin. x
Just wanted to say that I started with the E45. Lotion, but found it too thin. Should have got the E45 cream. However I also bought Aveeno cream and that's what I use now. Keep it up.
Used Aveeno here too, did the job perfectly! Should add though I didn’t start using it until the end of radiotherapy!
Hello,
I had radiotherapy including a 5 day boost in September, my oncologist suggested 100% Aloe Vera it didn’t do anything for me, I ended up very sore and was prescribed Flamigel by the radiography team, they mentioned that Aveeno was being trialled with good success, Inwould go with Aveeno if I were you.
Good Luck with your treatment.
