  • Well done  for getting through 1st one, it was a thought but we’re through it!
I was very red and flushed with the extra steroids but had last lot yesterday. SE manageable so far though tummy is a bit unhappy tonight, not sure which way it’s going to go...day at a time, hope you get some decent sleep tonight Pray tone2
Look for the April chemo 2021 as we have been moved over to that.  posted the link on here, just a bit back on the thread or just search for it.

Congratulations for first round done. I get flushed too on my face & chest.  I’m going to try the 7am & 1pm times for the steroids so not to mess with my sleep.
I did round #4 today. Ontario is in new lockdown so they made me get my bloodwork done this morning.  All was good my hemoglobin went up from last time but still low. She checked my magnesium because of my foot cramps. BCN suggested dark chocolate but my mag was good. The allergic meds knock me out when I got home. It was another 5 hour treatment with all the waiting.
I’m doing the regiment that Dclem does for constpation (I hope that’s who posted it) and thanks. It’s working, YAY!

  • #4 done, fantastic! Hope all side effects minimal and manageable  I get foot cramps and tight calve muscles too, I found Better You magnesium spray on them helps ease it off before bed but dark chocolate sounds like a nicer plan if I can taste it. Glad to hear your constipation eased with what I posted, always a hard thing to cope with as so uncomfortable. Rest up today and hope changes in steroid times help with sleep, definitely works better for me.

I also have the bloody nose and runny nose with the docetaxel. I can’t feel the nose running.

    Take care. All the best

I am having a runny nose after my docetaxel treatment. It runs like a tap and sometimes I can’t feel it. When I wipe my nose it’s blood stained. My nose is also sore inside and very dry in the mornings.

Same here regarding the bloody nose!

    Dclem

I only started getting the bloody nose when I started on the Docetaxel. I started the Filgistrim injections when I started Docetaxel but the bloody nose continues when the injections stop.

I haven't been getting a red face but definitely get a flushed face, usually in the evenings. I've also had weird red patches on my skin after each of my Docetaxel sessions. First one on my inner elbow which was quite sore. 2nd on my lower arm It looks like I've scraped it on something but it's definitely under my skin and not sore or raised!

I've been getting the foot cramps and pain in my lower leg. I like the sound of the dark chocolate cure!

Keep remembering more side effects. Blurry vision!! Don't need to wear my reading glasses any more to read  but distance vision definitely blurred!!

I’ve only had one chemo so far but only suffered for 4 days. I drank homemade smoothies for breakfast, a pot of green tea mid morning ,and fruit tea in the afternoon  and ate a lot of fruit. Some painkillers also make you constipated- didn’t realise that. Sorry that’s the best I have. I think the green tea is essential. Good luck.

  • Hi  some tried and tested tips from various ladies on here are prunes and prune juice, increase fruit and veg and fibre,  increase fluids as chemo dehydrates you, dulcoease, Senna or Laxido starting the day before chemo and daily till constipation resolved. I use Psyllium capsules from Holland and Barrett instead of Laxido as it made me nauseous, I start day before and it’s usually resolved by day 3 which i find I can manage. Unfortunately the anti nausea meds can cause constipation too so it’s just finding the balance that works for you without going the other way!

Hi lymph2020 i was plagued by this througout treatment had everything i could think off including prunes, fruit, vegetables wholegrains and pulses; kiwi fruit plus lots of water ate regular meals  but still needed Movical sachets three times a day. Even tried jumping up and down running on the spot!  Think sometimes you  just have to go for the meds. Rather wierdly i got it also with the Pacitaxel which is suppose to more usually give you diarrhoea .

Difficult getting the dose of laxatives right though. Good luck with it
