Hi all,

So I had my first EC on Thursday and have felt nauseous ever since (anti sickness is helping) I'm also hungry due to the steroids! My energy levels have really dipped today and I've been unable to stay awake. The day of the treatment I felt really "wierd" and spaced out but that has now gone.

Are these symptoms going to get worse over the next week? And the injections (daily for 5 days), I've read that they cause back pain and interupted sleep. Is this right?

I thought I was doing OK but today has thrown me.

Thank you xx

  • Hi Roses21, I had my first treatment on 15th Jan, so today is day 9 for me, all that you describe also happened to me, the daily injections did not cause me any pain or loss of sleep, they say day 9\10 you start to feel more yourself again, that happened for me today, i suppose everyone is different, keep going, you have started your treatment journey and will get there, keep a note of how you feel every day, you will be ready for your resting days and good days for your next treatments x

    Hi Crawler,

Thank you for that. I'm sorry you have experienced what I am now. But i am glad you are starting to feel a bit better again, it gives me hope. I am keeping a note of any symptoms, to help be better prepare for next time

    Xx

  • Hi

I had my 3rd and final EC on Wednesday and each one has followed a similar pattern. As  says, day 9/10 seems to be when you start to feel like yourself. From day 11 of the first 2 cycles I have felt perfectly normal, although not as fit as I was. Good to keep a note of symptoms - your nurses will ask before your next treatment, but more importantly I have found that I needed to remind myself of how I did feel at the beginning of each cycle.
You are very early in your 1st cycle and what you are experiencing sounds normal. Hoping that you feel much better in the next few days and good luck.
