Please can anyone who has had a CT scan tell me what happens? what you wear? how long it takes? what is waiting time for mastectomy after scan?
Hi cupboardlove welcome to this part of the forum. You will most likely be asked to strip and put on a hospital gown to go into the Scanner the Scanner is like a big doughnut and you lie on a trolley bed which slides into the machine and it is open at both ends. I imagine it can take up to 20-30 minutes but maybe less.
The scan forms part of the treatment pathway for you so it shouldn't delay surgery but rather give them a bigger picture of your Cancer if that makes sense..
Thank you so much for explaining what will happen!! I'm happier now x
I’ve had many ct scans. I’ve always just wear ordinary clothes. The only thing they check is that you don’t have a wired bra on. The scan is normally about 5 mins but the prep and resting afterwards takes it to about 20 mins. Each health board must have their own method.
