Hi,
I had high grade DCIS in 2019, treated with lumpectomy and radiotherapy. Annual mammograms for 5 years were clear, last one (clear too) in July 2025.
Just before Christmas (2025) I noticed skin changes on nipple in same breast and very quickly a lump too. Attended GP and got two week referral.
Now have two lumps confirmed as grade 3, ER8, PR8 HER2 +1, invasive breast cancer involving the skin. ( Although staging scans appeared all clear)
Mastectomy (and reconstruction) due in March.
Other treatment to follow that, as required
Biopsy confirmed recurrence still hard to spot on 3D mammograms/ultrasound and CT scans.
So can I feel reassured by the staging scans or not?
Any ideas?
