Hi everyone I had a routine screening (first one age 51) I had a recall 2 weeks later , mammograms and ultrasound found bilateral lumps so had biopsies. Today diagnosed with grade 1 in left breast and grade 2 in right. Waiting for results were the worst, high anxiety , panic attacks etc .Have to wait for HER-2 results as not back yet but no spread to lymphs. Waiting to be booked in for MRI as dense breast tissue making it hard to see size of tumour in right breast. Lumpectomy's to be done at end of the month with radiotherapy and hormone pills . Not looking forward to the return of menopause symptoms as having to come off HRT . Have been lurking and reading posts for the last few weeks to help me cope with anxiety which have helped immensely so thank you and Hello.

  • Hi  , welcome to the forum, it’s a club which none of us wanted to join but a great place for support and shared experiences. There will always be someone in a similar situation, I have found it so helpful to know I’m not alone. And I’m still here rattling around the site, more than 6 years on from my diagnosis! Others will pop in soon I’m sure who are nearer to your stage in the process. Sending love and a big virtual hug, HFxx

  • So sorry you find yourself here. And the waiting bit you’re in at the moment is horrid. I had a MRI with dense breasts too and I was surprised on the day I had it that they put a drip into my arm for it. Just mentioning it in case you were unaware and it happens to you too. Hugs xx

  • Hi Furball73,

I had her2 neg erpostitve prpositive. I had lumpectomy June last year followed by chemo, radiotherapy and now on Letrozole.

The Letrozole side effects are mostly bone and joint stiffness and aches. Both manageable with exercise. I have a few hot flushes but not as many as I had anticipated. I know we are all different but hopefully the side effects won't be too bad.

Wishing you well with your treatment plan. Xx
