Has anyone else on here had a triple negative diagnosis, wondered what my treatment route might be. Hopefully I will get more information soon from hospital.

  • Thanks so much had double lymph node biopsy today originally it is as to repeat previous one then they found another suspicious one from MRI they have said results will be fast tracked because of my diagnosis and also lump hasn't grown do that bit is positive. Currently in endoscopy for my chat before a camera next week as they are exploring colorectal as I lost my mum to this and recent sampling in a FIT test , hoping it's all just stress, also just been made redundant, not sure how finding a job is fitting into my life currently. I was told it could be up to 12 weeks after surgery to decide chemo

I have been diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Has anyone else had same diagnosis.

  • It was 9 weeks after surgery before I started chemotherapy so don't worry about it being up to 12 weeks. They like to make sure you're fully healed from surgery before starting chemo.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything else is okay.

  • How long after surgery could you work. I was recently made redundant and work in education so I would be looking at agency. I have applied for some benefit but I was hoping my critical care insurance would pay out but they may not class my cancer as serious enough still awaiting decision

I have been diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Has anyone else had same diagnosis.

  • I was already retired before I had my operation but I was told not to do anything strenuous for a couple of weeks after the op. However, a few days later I was able to go for my normal hourly walk without pain.

You should be advised how much time you'll need off when you go for your pre-op.

  • I have had two areas biopsied yesterday they said my results would be fast tracked because of cancer type as it usually takes 3 weeks. Has the chemo affected your hair and is it chemo every day mine is only 1 cm but there were concerns on a couple of lymph nodes

I have been diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Has anyone else had same diagnosis.

  • Hopefully the results won't take long and then you will have a treatment plan I felt better just by knowing that.

Mine was 4-5 cm but with no lymph involved I am currently having chemotherapy weekly for 12 weeks tomorrow will be my 8th. I am doing the cold cap so up to now I still have my hair with some thinning.

  • Hi Juliec.64

Hope you are well despite your diagnosis.  I have Stage 1 Grade 3 TNBC nodes are clear.  I started 12 weeks of chemo on 15 Nov 24.  Having to go every Fri for 12 weeks was tough but doable.  I am now on EC chemo with one more to go on 25 April.  Everyone's experience is different and I've had some days where I've felt awful but it passes and you have good days to get out and do normal stuff.  I am waiting for an appt to have lumpectomy which will be followed by radiotherapy.  Then 6 weekly immunatherapy treatments x 5.  It's a long slog but needs must.  Be kind to yourself, accept help when needed, rest, eat healthily and the time will pass.  Take care and good luck xx

  • Hi BAC52

My treatment plan is very similar to yours can I ask how was yourself on the EC ?

At the moment I am not too bad on pac and carb and the immunotherapy. It hasn't been decided what type of surgery I will be having xx

  • What's it like with cold cap and how long are chemo sessions

I have been diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Has anyone else had same diagnosis.

  • It is quite intense for the first 15mins then it sort off goes numb but everyone is different if you suffer with headache It can make them worse.

You have it on for 30mins before your treatment and if you only have one treatment it is a hour after but a hour and half if you have 2 xx
