Hi all I am a 71yo Male who had surgery for Breast Cancer last June. It went well with no additional attention needed. Recently I had a phone conversation with a nurse from the clinic who conducts the Open Access Facility and she mentioned On Line Forums as being a good place to share experiences and thoughts with others so I have decided to join this one.

I must confess that when first told told i had breast cancer I was less shocked but more so embarrassed as tbh I did not think this was a " bloke " thing and when needing to tell others I called it Chest Cancer ( still do ) but fair dues the staff where great and reassured me that unfortunately it is on the rise for Men. Anyway hopefully I will feel able to post more and interact in positive ways with other members.

  • HI

Welcome to the forum - clearly though, not where you wanted to be.

There have been some threads on here with men having been diagnosed with breast cancer (I like your description of chest cancer and totally understand and advocate this description for men, great idea!)

I am replying because I suspect your post won't be found by any other men on this forum unless you put "male breast cancer" in the title (and then describe it how you want in your post).

I'm not sure that you can change the title, but if you post again with the fact that you are male in the title, any other men who are around will surely find you.

Obviously there may be women who can give advice if you have any questions, but for a bit of like-minded support, then try the new post.

    Kindest wishes, Lesley
