I had my op on 6th March and am looking for any recommendations for recovery. I am currently wearing binding which I am finding uncomfortable, but understand is necessary which I have to wear for 5 days. I’m also struggling with sleep as I can’t get comfortable. Would appreciate any recommendations for a pillow or anything else that might help.
I have an appointment on Saturday for a post bra fitting, should I get something to wear in bed at night as well?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Grovsie
I was fortunate that my hospital provided a bra to wear post lumpectomy. I was advised to sleep in it as well, which I did. I had to wear it continuously for 4 weeks and it seemed to do the job as I didn't need any extra cushions/anything else in bed.

I was also given a heart shaped cushion. I didn't need it in bed but did use it when I was travelling in the car as it protected my breast against jolts.
Hi , hoping you’re starting to feel a little better , but you must look after yourself and get plenty of rest .
i bought post surgery bras from Cancer Research which I wore day and night . I also propped myself up with two or three pillows and a v shaped one so I was well supported . I also learned to sleep on my back which I sometimes still do .
If you find you’re awake in the night try to practise deep breathing as it really can help you relax . Also listening to the radio might help you to drift off .
Best wishes or a good recovery .
Carole
Hi, I had seen the heart shaped pillow but wasn’t sure if it would be any good. I have now ordered one. Thank you for the recommendation.
