Hi all,

I’ve recently been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and will be having a bilateral mastectomy on 31/12/24. Feeling very overwhelmed with all this. Emotionally a lot to get my head round.

I have a bigger lump in my left breast and mri scan showed 5 very small lumps in my right breast, lymph nodes look clear at the moment so will have a biopsy when having the mastectomy.

  • Hi Em_fairy, I have also been diagnosed with TNBC, end of Oct. Due to the size of the tumour in my left breast, I have to undergo 6 months of chemo to shrink to an operable size. Was this also an option for you? Keeping you in my thoughts and hope all goes well!

  • Hi Em_fairy

Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.  I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer over four years ago and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I made a full recovery and remain cancer free.

Wishing you the best of luck with your operation.

    Best wishes

  • Thanks for your reply. My lump measures 18mm in left breast and the other breast has very small lumps as they were only seen on the mri. So they said surgery would be better for me. Might need something after the surgery.
    Did you have surgery?

  • Thanks for your reply. Very please to hear you are cancer free.
Christmas will hopefully be a welcome distraction from the worry Fingers crossed

  • Under my current treatment plan, my surgery will take place after completion of chemotherapy, so in around 6 months time. I am fairly small chested and the tumour is big in contrast to my breast size, so believe that’s one of the reasons I have chemo before surgery.

  • Hi suz I also got the same TNBC stage 3 and awaiting to start chemotherapy then op after and I  too have  small boobs I was told by oncologist that it the best way forward for my kind of cancer hope this helps my lovely Blushand I wish you all the best going forward Blush

  • Hi Daisy53 so happy to hear that you are cancer free. Are you on any hormone treatment now and which one of you don't mind me asking.

  • Thank you Ladypip, for your kind words of support. Wishing you the same too! I started my 2nd cycle this week Thursday so not much ahead of youKissing heart

  • I have been diagnosed with TNBC my lump was 3cm and small amounts in one node. I had a lumpectomy because the lab wrote the wrong results on my path report they said I was ER and PR positive but after op they found the error and confirmed tnbc so now I found out that j should have had chemo first, no idea if it makes a difference having op first. Needless to say my surgeon was mortified but its fine now but terrified their mistake will cost me. Also had PET scan hopefully it hasn't spread

  • Hello Suz89

I have been diagnosed with TNBC high grade.. waiting for all the scans and staging and hoping it is not stage 4 at this point.

I have multicentric cancer in my right breast and all lymphnodes till the collarbone showing enlargement. Am scared it will grow further as my appointment is for Jan 10th.

Have you tried any diet specific for TNBC ? I am going crazy thinking of ways that might help slow it somehow until my treatment starts.

For all of you here, loads of love and prayers :)
