Hello all,
Hope everyone is doing okay.
needed a little help:
My wife has T2, N0 - TNBC . Had Wide local excision with negative SNLB .
She has completed her 4 cycles of Doxorubicin and Cyclophosphamide and the next cycle of medicines are due to start on 23 Dec.
Doctor has offered a weekly Paclitaxel/ Carboplatin regime . However, my wife wants to be on a 3 weekly regime of the medicine.
She thinks it is mentally exhausting to go to the hospital for 12 cycles compared with the hospital visit of 4.
Is there any major difference on the side effects if we were to follow the latter regime ?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance !
Paclitaxel is usually administered weekly, I found the treadmill of weekly treatments irritating, as you just get over one dose before you have the next, but equally the symptoms remain manageable. I think the dose dense approach is quite tough, especially with carboplatin in the mix. The weeks will soon pass.
