NEW/BREAST CANCER JOURNEY

Hi, new here, diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer, grade 2 on 10th May, very much a shock. Hormone receptor positive, HER2 positive. Went through 12 weeks of chemo, and also had phesgo injection every 3 weeks. Various mri scans and mri guided biopsy too.

Operation/lumpectomy on 28th October to remove two areas, my main lump I found disappeared after 3 weeks of chemo which was fantastic.

Following the Operation my pathology results came back on Monday and my original lump of cancer has been removed and its cancer free. Unfortunately my lymph nodes that they removed 1 of the 6 came back and contained cancer cells.

So another operation due 17th December to remove all lymph nodes, staying overnight this time, with a drain in.

Definitely will need radiotherapy after, and a possibility of more chemo too, which I'm not looking forward to, but all the hurdles they put infront of me I just keep jumping over them.

Still on sick from work but they have been great with everything I'm going through.

  • Hi Mrsherbs welcome to the forum and well done for getting through the first part of the journey. You sound like a very positive and upbeat kind of person which is good because this disease can test our very being at times. Its good to keep as positive as you can though because that will help get you through. Hope to hear form you as you move through the journey and we are here as you need us to be. Sending some hugs your way for now. x
