Evening all,

My story so far.. I’m 48 yr old women

Really weird but was woken up with my hand on my breast feeling a lump, didn’t think much of it at the time but the following day it was real when all of a sudden my worse fears come true.

Booked myself Into my Doctors - after an examination the Doctor said it was nothing sinister and possibly fibro/menopause lump (felt like a small marble size lump) upper inner quadrant.  She booked me in for Mammogram and Ultrasound, within two weeks the tests were carried out and 4 biopsies taken.  The Consultant at the time advised some dense tissue was found on the ultrasound and the measurement of lump was 12mm around 1cm.

Just under a couple of weeks - my lump had struck down -  I was called into the Hospital and sat down with the Consultant who advised it is invasive lobule cancer - grade 2 - my heart, my world was broken and my head was gone.

OMG my husband, my girls, my parents and my close family - my head was spinning what am I going to do

The Doctor advised an MRI would need to be carried Oort on my breast but going on my tests so far it would be a lumpectomy and 5 sessions of radiotherapy Pray tone1 but until the MRI is done nothing is certain.

I’ve had the worse Xmas ever but tried to hold it together for my family

I started HRT in March 2022  - which I was stopped a couple of weeks ago, I’ve never smoked don’t hardly drink, and no family history

  • Hug needed.  Join the club.  I am 70 this year and have always been quite active - in fact  was back packing in the Greek islands October 22.  But like you no family history, no smoking.

I was diagnosed in August TNBC inflamatory stage 3 with one lymph node affected and had to have rounds of MRI scans to ensure it had spread no further.  The lump was too large to operate and so I have had to have two months of severe chemo; which should now be followed by three months of a lighter weekly chemo prior to surgery and followed by radiotherapy.

But you have to stay positive and relaxed, if only for your family.  Try Melatonin - relaxes and helps sleep.  Burdock tea helps with inflamation.

Let us know how you get on.  Lots of kind souls on here with advice and support.

    Take care x

  • Thank you Pray tone1

when doing my ultrasound my Axilla nodes were clear nothing detected.

You keep well and thanks for support at this time.

  • Wishing you all the best. I went through a similar journey 3 years ago.. feel free to read my profile.. it can be devastating, so take some time to come to terms with what is happening, but remember treatment is excellent and recovery is very high.

  • Thank you for comment - your read is brilliant too xx sending lots of love

  • Me too 1 yr ago. Wide excision lumpectomy and total node removal. They took 30 out and it was in 1. I didn't have chemo just radiotherapy 5 sessions.

Just gone back to Pilates, my joints and back creak and groan but I'm keeping moving. I'm 67 yes, still dancing although I'm much slower in many ways. Sheer determination and grit, it's my life and I worked until 60 yrs for this. Cancer doesn't get to decide for me. X Pray

  • You look amazing girl thanks for comment Pray tone1 x

  • Look fabulous.  I was just discussing the same.  I am 70 this year and since I retired have got in a bit of travel in between lock downs.  October 22 I was backpacking around the Greek Islands;  New Year 22/23 I was on the island of Madeira..... onwards and upwards I look forward to more travel and shinnanigans once I have completed all this.....
