Good evening I hope you are all OK

I booked a telephone consult for an assessment to hopefully receive the 6 free Bupa counselling sessions advertised literally everywhere on MacMillan sites.

Was meant to be this evening at 7pm.

Nothing. No call. No message.

I received confirmation by email of this.

Has anyone had any problems or positive outcomes?

Tbh I'm in weekly chemo and could've done with going to bed rather than wait over an hour for a phone call to then be let down. Plus I have no clue what to do now.

Any help would be appreciated Pray

TIA

  • Hello Hope Strength

I am sorry to hear this. I can understand that you feel let down.

I have sent a message to the moderator to see what they can do to follow this up for you.

  • That's so kind of you thank you.

  • Hello

I am so sorry to hear that you're in weekly chemo and that you didn't receive a call regarding BUPA counselling when you expected it. That sounds really frustrating, particularly when you're awaiting some support.

It sounds like you might be awaiting a wellbeing assessment from the BUPA Support Team. You can find all the information about booking an assessment and accessing free counselling from BUPA through the Macmillan website here.

I'm afraid that the Online Community team don't have access to your booking information, but if you contact our Support Line, they will be able to look into this for you. Our Support Line teams are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00email or live webchat.

In addition to checking all the details of your appointment, you can also have a chat with someone who's there to listen and ask any questions you might have.

I hope you also find it helpful to be able to talk to people in similar circumstances here on the Online Community. Lots of people find it helpful to be able to access the forums and connect with people who understand what you're going through, because they have been there themselves.

If you have any further questions, please do email us at community@macmillan.org.uk or send a PM to  and we'll be pleased to help.

    Best wishes

  • Thank you so much Steph. MacMillan have reached out to me today via messenger. I also have a new Wellbeing Assessment telephone appointment Wednesday evening. Hopefully I can then move forward with some counselling. Really appreciate your help.
