  • Hi Lorraine,

So sorry to hear about how you feel! We all have been through this ordeal and believe me the wait is the worst! Once you know, things will start looking a bit better no matter how crazy this might sound to you! Just accept what is happening to you and fight! Cancer diagnosis is not what it used to be 10 or even 5 years ago - treatment is so advanced nowadays that people live for decades even with advanced breast cancer. Stay strong! Big hug, xx

  • Hi  , ask anything! My cancer story is on my profile - you can read people’s profiles by clicking on their username (although not everyone fills in the profile, it’s not compulsory but useful I think). In short I found a lump, went to GP, sent to breast clinic, had mammogram, ultrasound and biopsies, told that day that the doc thought it was most likely cancer. Confirmed 2 weeks later, op a few weeks after that. I had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy, followed by 3 weeks radiotherapy and hormone treatment. Will be 5 years post diagnosis this autumn.
Like you I have a habit of producing lumps and bumps - have had a fibroadenoma removed many years ago from same breast, plus cysts in the other which were left to sort themselves out! Uterine polyps removed a few times.
Many of us here have imagined all sorts of other things during the limbo periods of waiting, I got stomach pains and was convinced the cancer (which wasn’t even definite at that time) had spread there too. It hadn’t. Our minds work overtime when we’re stressed as I imagine you know all too well.
Hope you can find ways to occupy yours in the time till your appointment. It will come eventually! Love and hugs, HFxx

  • Hi Lorraine, the cancer is all gone but I’m struggling a bit with anxiety.  After surgery and treatment everyone thinks you’re back to normal and you feel under pressure to be back to yourself.

  • Hi Happy feet....

Thats a lot of lumps and bumps you've had...so you've been 5 years clear now...

Thanks..i can just click names to read stories ...

    my appointment is tommorow...

    thanks again XX

  • Hello my grace...

Im pleased for you, its all gone,,,,,I have very bad anxiety for years ...i use self enquiry most days..it can be applied to any stressful thoughts..its called " the work of byron katie"..ive already started working on my fear of cancer... thre are other methods out there too ... I hope you can find some peace x

  • Hello Lana..

Thankyou...it does sound crazy..but i can partly see how that can be true.....i want tommorow to be now..but not want to know also...thankyou for your advice..big hug x

  • Hello Happyfeet1

It turns out the lumps weren't cancer, i had a biopsy, one of the lumps is a fibrodenoma, the other a cyst.

The consultant said he had never heard of the "pip charts" i found online to identify cancer. All the staff were so good. I cant say how much i appreciated everyone's support on here and i wish you all peace and love , your all amazing people, i admire you.
