Hi,

I am posting this on behalf my mum.

She is 55 & has just been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, although the lump has been removed and she is awaiting chemo the stats online for this particular cancer returning seems higher than some of the other breast cancers which is terrifying her.

Is there anyone else out there with triple negative breast cancer?

Or anyone who has recovered and surpassed the 5 years?

Hope to hear from you soon.

  • Hola!   So happy it went well for you.   I used paracetamol and ibuprofen, the Boots ones with a little codiene in them.  The secret is not to wait until you’re in pain. I alternated them and that seemed to work well.  Good news no actual stitches to come out, though to be fair it wasn’t actually that painful.  I just looked into Pedro the nurses lovely eyes and that distracted me.

Getting results on Monday, though they’ve already appeared online!   It’s looking good, clear margins, no lymph involvement.  I’ll take that.  Stage 1c and grade 2.  They’ve referred me to the University Hospital in Malaga so seeing the specialist there on Friday.  It’s all going on!

    onwards and upwards! Xx

  • Hi Anxious Maryoma, I alternated between paracetamol and ibuprofen. I didn’t wait for the pain to build up. I don’t know if these can be mixed with what you are already taking but maybe check with a chemist or ask the MacMillan nurses. Hope you can get some relief soon.

    Hugs from cuffcake x x x x x

  • hya Ochno. dont know if u got my last post 2u after op on Thursday.  let me know if u ddnt coz it was pretty painful typing.

  • Hi there, I must have missed it.  How are you this morning?  Pain relief working better??

  • yes thnx and I've found a comfortable place to enable me to sleep on my left side. ive stopped the other meds this morning and strtd 200 x 2 ibro. so wen can I take the parecetomol is it in-between the 4hrs so say take parecetomol every 2hrs and ibro every 4hrs. bit confused and brain foggy.

  • A mountain of pillows helps x I found I was getting more relief with the ibuprofen so was taking that before bed and in the morning, taken after eating, never on empty tummy. If I woke up through the night I’d take paracetamol just to tide me over.  Paracetamol during the day as required .  Be careful not to take too much.  Paracetamol definitely space 4 hours apart, absolute maximum 8 x 500mg a day.  You’ll work it out.  When I’ve been doing my exercises I’ve done it after pain relief.

  • hya Ochno. yes  I've worked out pain relief now. but now im a touch constipated dont know why coz my food is incl lots of veg & protein . ill sort it out today. been sleeping a lot but think I'm on top of that now too. as u say take 1 day at a time. results 10th Feb with consultant.

  • BTW how many reps for the excersise.

  • Hi there, codeine can bung you up, maybe just try painkillers without it?  I had the same but once I stopped codeine all back to normal.  Walking helps, gets things moving…literally x  also keep hydrated.

I think with the exercises, do what you feel able to do.   I’ve just been doing when I’ve been sitting watching tv etc, just keeps everything mobile.  I’m almost back to full movement now.  Surgeon checked me over this morning, all good.  Now handed over to Malaga hospital for ongoing treatment.

  • Hya Ochno.  wow ur journey is now in a different phase. how long now since u had the actual op. ????

me now may have Lymphodema hospital wants to see me this morning at 09.30.

got a hard swelling in the site armpit. sore to touch but its not the actual scar tissue.

we will see today. ill post results of the findings.
