Hi Im new on here, and have just had op for Breast Cancer, I am looking for the pros n cons of taking Estrogen if anyone can help thxs
I wonder if you might have misunderstood. Er+ means you cannot consider HRT. It is an anti-estrogen that you will most likely be given to take. Letrozole or tamoxifen are common.
he deffo said estrogen and said it does have side effects such as making ur bones brittle but can take if for wee while if want and stop so looking for answers before see him next so can say no dont want or yes will take it
Hi Cyd
Were they talking about estrogen blockers possibly? There are 3 ones used for post menopausal women and they can result in your bone density reducing and therefore becoming more at risk of fracture. Those medications are called Letrozole , Anastrozole ( which I am on) and Exemestane
There is also Tamoxifen which I understand has less affect on bones but is usually used for pre menopausal women
Hi not sure as he said can talk about it once see him with my results in few weeks, just wanted some pros n cons so know what to look out for when talking to him
