Hello I’m new to this group I had a mammogram done on the 26 March 22. I got called back 2 weeks later to have further tests and went back a week later to be told I had an 8cm calcification on my left breast and at the time only two lymph nodes had cancer. On the on the 6 May 22 I had to have a full CT Scan went back thankfully the body scan was clear. On the 10 June 22 I had a left breast mascetomy and 17 lymph nodes removed 4 of which were cancerous. I’m now three weeks on and feeling very emotional my cancer was stage 2 also I’m oestrogen sensitive so will have to take a tablet once treatment has been completed. I go on 6/7/22 to see oncologist to find out what treatment I’m having.

has anyone else had this

  • Hello! So sorry to hear of your diagnosis. There are lots of lovely ladies on this site and I'm sure you'll receive some more messages of support. I personally only joined a couple of weeks ago and have found it really useful to know I'm not on this cancer journey alone.

I had grade 2 cancer and have just finished treatment. Mine was also oestrogen and progesterone positive so I was put on tamoxifen a couple of months ago. I think the drug they give you depends on your age/menopause status.

    Take care xx

  • Hi, sorry to hear of your diagnosis and surgery & what sounds like yet more to come (hopefully not though)

I have been diagnosed with high grade cancer calcification of 46mm and have to see the surgeon on the 8th July.
I think because of the size of my cancer it will be a mastectomy and that’s something I’m trying to come to terms with.
im hoping if I go down this path that I won’t need chemo or radiotherapy but will know more once I have seen the specialist.
I wish you well and I’m sure you will get others that will be giving words of encouragement and great advice having been down a similar path.
we are all in it together for help and support so you can always reach out on this forum and kind words will be there for you.
regards and good luck Lyn x

  • Hi lyndy

i was a fairly similar picture- small lump and lymph nodes biopsied and mri clear but then 4 of 15 were positive on surgery. I did have to have chemo once it was found in the lymph nodes and upgraded from a 2 to 3 after surgery.   However, it has not been as bad as I feared. It’s not nice, but it’s doable.

if you have questions then do use the forum and people always reply and have advice. All the best with your appointment and let us know how you get on. Xx
