I had a partial colostomy of my large bowel some 33 years ago and have been very fortunate thus far, I used to quip that I always had lose stools and could only pass chipolatas not sausages any more. This used to be light hearted until I started chemo for breast cancer. Now I suffer from very watery motions daily and often twice or more a day. I was advised to take Imodium at my last chemo session but is it safe to use it regularly over time in my case? I have asked the local 'team' and I did make them aware of having only a partial large bowel but if anyone here can help in any way I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. It's a horrible disease and the treatment can also be really nasty so thanks for the support of all cancer people and those who are in their care.
Deb...I also have spots on face and scalp. I guess this is till hair goes? I am on my first chemo cycle and it's a total shock to the system and feeling pretty rubbish. It's just one after another. Although I am quite proud to be able to give myself the Jab for wbc.
Sorry to hear abt your family and cancer. Loss my dad to.bowel cancer ...just awful.

I took an Imodium before I went to the surgery for bloods this morning, definitely helps! Not that fear of being caught short! I have asked the breast cancer nurse but no reply as yet but Thursday looms and it was the cancer nurse at the hospital who suggested Imodium so I'm hopeful!
Jeanne- same, scared n have got spare clothes/towel in car, just in case. Only we know how these are necessary prep b4 leaving home!! Sending hugs, hope all OK for Thursday, what time for?

My daughter has to take holiday to ferry me back and forth, she's been ever so good as she works full time but fortunately lives quite close by. Picking me up at 11. 40 ish for 12.15 chemo session. My husband has early onset dementia and no longer drives so her coming to live near is a real God send.
