Newly diagnosed, yesterday, with stage 2 non specific breast cancer.
I went to see my GP five weeks ago with the worst case of nipple itch ever.
GP gave me antibiotics and a steroid cream and asked me to return in two weeks, which I did.
she then said she would refer me to the breast institute as a precautionary measure.
I attended the appointment, had a mammogram, an ultrasound and biopsies, and here we are!
The strange thing is, the nipple itch is on the other breast to the cancer! It was obviously a message to tell me her friend wasn’t doing too good!
I have surgery planned for December 1st then radiotherapy to start post surgery.
Im feeling surprisingly calm, but I’m sure a meltdown will be imminent once it has sunk in.
I hope everyone here is doing well and I’m interested to read everyone’s stories.
Anthea
Welcome. Thought I would reply as no one else has yet and its such a busy site that you may slip off the front page! Everyone reacts differently to news so just go with the flow. it can be a scary time but you have your diagnosis and a plan in place so that is good to look forward to something even if it is surgery but it some cases (like mine) it meant the cancer is removed. Enjoy reading the stories. We have all been brought here for a reason even though each case is different but we're a good bunch with lots of hints and tips if you need it so ask any questions. Keep going one day at a time and good luck x
Hi Anthea, I also had none specific BC, my treatment was Chemo, Surgery and Radiation, and now Herceptin injection untill March next year, the cancer is all gone now, as Tired Minion says, take it a day at a time, just concentrate with the treatment you are dealing with, one at a time…you will get there.
There are lovely people on here who will answer any questions you may have to the best of their ability, lots of ladies have all gone through treatment, and ladies just starting out … best wishes to you xx

Hi Anthea_J
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer.
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last year and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I am now in remission. I didn't have too many side effects from treatment mainly just feeling tired most of the time. I did lose my hair and wore turbans when I needed to go out. You can click on my name if you want to see my journey and I also have a blog called my triple negative cancer journey in which I detail some of what I went through during treatment.
Wishing you the best of luck with whatever treatment your medical team put you on after the operation.
Best wishes
