Up in the air about diagnosis

  • This is the toughest part. Are you waiting on diagnosis or have you been diagnosed. Sorry you find yourself here. Until you know the facts and confirmed biopsy is what it is, please try not to worry ...its easier said than done.

    Take care

Thank you I have so many questions

  • Ask away as there will be some great advice xx

  • How are you feeling about DCIS? I am sure you're on an emotional rollercoaster. I have the same diagnosis too.

I assume 9Nov is the appointment with Oncologist? Have you seen the breast surgeon.. I assume she did the biopsy?

Please don't say you're being a pain. We are all learning as we go along and all so very new and mentally draining!

Like Mel...this group has kept me sane in a very unreal world for me. So please lean on us if you wish, we will support you best we can.

I'm guessing that the op date won't be too far away, but rather than wait without knowing until 9th November, why don't you call the Breast Care Nurses at your hospital and ask them to explain about the appointment and what to expect? The BC Nurses at my hospital were really helpful.

  • At the mo, write down some of the questions you have for they can be answered for your appointment on 9th. Myself I have op date on 9/11 for mastectomy. I totally surrender to the medical team to actually patch me up. My surgeon is such a lovely and steady caring woman! And so are the BCNs. Through biopsy etc they were helpful and kind to me which makes such a difference.

Only thing for me was that I was sent for various scans, but no one actually told me of findings off the scans till I queried them. Looking at the lump on Mri really is surreal and confirms its not a bad dream I can wake up from sadly.

I do hope you get a date soon for op. Remember take a step at a time. Breathe and keep moving forward. It's not easy but many ladies have come out the other side. Think positive.
