Morning!
never thought I'd be someone who couldn't sleep, well that was until I received a diagnosis on Wednesday of triple negative grade 2 breast cancer.

To say I'm terrified is an understatement!

im looking to reach out to others who have a similar diagnosis who are perhaps further along in their journey than I am.

I want to stay positive without this constant nagging anxiety in the pit of my tummy.

thanks A

Hi Mummabear, Kay and Key, I´m sorry to read of your diagnoses too. It´s such a stressful, scary time but you´ve definitely found the right place for help and support.

I forgot to say in my above post, although I have mentioned it elsewhere on the forum, that I also have a young child, a little boy who´s 7 and I am 46.

Sending love to everyone going through this. XX

    Hi Doria

Looks like I missed your response, I hope you are okay?  I'm so glad your scans and bloods came normal.

I'm flitting between here and Dr Google for research/advice and support

    Some helpful but some not.

I think everyone has suggested drinking water; so it must work

    Speak soon

    Hi Ali,

Thanks Ali. I´m doing OK at the moment, thanks for asking :) I hope you´re OK too?

I would say to try to avoid Google where possible as I gave myself a couple of scares when I was recently diagnosed.

I try to drink lots of water especially on chemo days to help flush everything out. XX

    Hi Collette,

So sorry to hear that you have TNBC and diagnosed so recently.  This site and forum has really helped me with keeping sane!!

Like everyone said to me try not to look at google as it can be quite out of date with information.

We all seem to be having different treatments, I believe mine is chemo first but i see you are having surgery. I'm glad you have it booked and so soon, I hope that offer's you some level of reassurance?

I have 3 daughters, 12, 12 & 16 and told them last Sunday that I had BC.  I kept it very  basic not saying which BC and explaining treatment and how that might make me feel.  They coped well with it and we had a few giggles about wigs. Last night my 12 yr old came and spoke to me, asking if I was going to die - I had been dreading this conversation but actually I was glad she asked so that I could reassure her that I would fight to get rid of this cancer.  Do you have girls/boys or one of each?

Have you had any blood tests? I had some prior to my CT scan.

You are in the best hands now, with treatment starting.  We are embarking on a road to rid ourselves of this critter.

I am around for chats whenever you feel like it.

    Ax

    Hi Doria,

Glad you are okay at the moment!! I guess I am okay, a little wobbly at times but it's the unknown and the wait that wobbles me.  Coming on this site helps me not go on google!!

I have read that drinking water has helped lots of people through Chemo. I need to practise ditching the coffee for water...

Did you change your diet at all?  What about your little boy did you have to change any of yours/his routine?

    Axx

Hi A,  I've just seen your post and I've also just been diagnosed with tnbc grade 2.  33mm lump and one  node.  I've been told  chemotherapy and surgery are my best options.  Just waiting today for Chemo nurse to call to discuss start date etc for chemo.

I'm very anxious as my cousin died from this last year aged 40.  I'm 63 and no 'spring chicken'.

Ive heard positive and negative stories and hope that with good diet and exercise etc we can get through this.

Sending you positive thoughts and love.xx

    Hi Janey59,

So sorry you find yourself on this forum (although it's been so helpful, and it really is a better place than google) I'm also so sorry to hear that your cousin passed away from this awful disease.  My cousin who is 32, had Triple POSITIVE BC 2 years ago, she is currently okay.

I start my 1st Chemo treatment tomorrow - gotta kick this ar@ehole to the  curb.

We will get through this, Janey59!!

Good luck and keep me posted.

Good luck  with your first chemo. I started mine yesterday but I'm having oral chemo which doesn't seem to be as common as IV chemo. So far no major side effects, a little nausea last night, some wierd stabbing pain where the cancer is. I'm also TNBC.

    Take care of yourself x
