Hi
I finished my chemotherapy 3weeks ago, can anyone please tell me when my eyebrows and eye lashes should start growing back. I know it will be many months for my head hair to grow back but I'm hoping to be wearing mascara by Xmas, or is this just wishful thinking.
Hi Albren welcome to the forum and glad that at least one part of the treatment is past for you. I cant answer your question with any certainty but I believe that it can take as long for the hair on brows and eyelashes to return. However, there are ways around these things and one of the lovely folks on here will be along soon with tips and tricks and what has worked for them.
My hair was quite slow to get going, it only really started to take off between months 3 and 4 post chemo. Eyelashes and eyebrows were even longer to get going. I think it was 5 months before I was able to wear mascara.
My eyebrows still aren't completely back and I finished chemo in January.
Head hair is doing really well now.
I started using an eyelash serum and not sure if it made them grow back any quicker, but they are better and longer than they were before.
Everyone is different of course, but I think most people find their head hair grows back faster than eyebrows and lashes.
Hi Albren
I finished chemotherapy on 4th June and have been wearing mascara for approx 6 weeks. Eyebrows grew back at the same time. At first my eyelashes weren't long enough to curl but at least the mascara made them look thicker and longer. They are now as they were before chemo. My hair is approx 1.5 cm now and thick and grey (was naturally auburn before with added blonde highlights). I'm still wearing a wig or hat when I go out as I don't like my ears showing. Hopefully you will be able to wear mascara by Xmas.
Take care x
Hi, I finished chemo in late June and I just noticed this week that I now have eyebrows a little darker and thicker than before, so that's 3 months, Guess we are all different
Thanks for all the replies to my question, it seems we are all different and I just need to be a little more patient.
