Hi I was wondering if anyone he’s had undergone this diagnosis and treatment
Ive only just signed up and needed some support as had a tough year losing both parents snd having a masectomy all in 7 months
I am usually a very positive person but this has tested me no end snd need some support xxx
Hi Karen Bailes welcome to the forum and I am so very sorry to hear about all that has happened for you and all in such a short period of time, little wonder you are feeling tested and who wouldn't?
My Breast Cancer was also Lobular in type but I was picked up very early and managed to have a Lumpectomy with Sentinel Lymph node removal and then 20 sessions of Radiotherapy, so a different story from you, but hard nonetheless. I'm not at all surprised that you are feeling as you do and you need to be a bit kind to yourself, as apart from losing a part of you physically with your Breast, you have lost a huge part of you, as who you are, with the loss of both parents.
We are here for you as and when you need us to be and please do keep in touch and have a look around the threads and chat with others if you feel up to it.
Meantime I'm sending some huge big hugs your way for now. xxxx
Hi Karen, I’m so sorry you’ve gone through so much in the last couple of months. I was diagnosed with lobular cancer in June and had a lumpectomy in July, I’ve also just had an auxiliary clearance 2 weeks ago. I joined while I was waiting for my diagnosis and reading the positive comments from the ladies on this site have been so helpful. Everyone is so supportive, so you are not alone we are all here to help in any way we can.
There are also some really good blogs from some of the ladies detailing their treatment which are really worth a read.
Sending you big hugs
Diane xx
Hi, how rotten for you on top of everything! Yes, quite a few of us on here with lobular invasive cancer. Mine was successfully treated by lumpectomy and breast reduction in one breast, but the other breast didn’t work out so I’m having mastectomy for that side, soon as I’m fit for the surgery in a few weeks time. Obviously it’s not great to have a failed lumpectomy but I know they’ll keep going with my treatment until they’ve beaten this thing back. I’ve had the left lymph nodes done but now need to have the right. And then I’ll need radiotherapy because I’ve still got breast tissue on one side. The mastectomy side won’t need it. Ask for all the support you need and don’t be shy. It makes a huge difference
Hi Karen. I was diagnosed with lobular cancer and have had a lumpectomy and node clearance so far.
it has been an awful year for so many of us. My father in law died just before Christmas, my father’s Alzheimer’s got to the point of him being sectioned and now in a nursing home, my mother in law also has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has now gone into a care home. My first thought on diagnosis was ‘no I don’t have time for this’.
If you ever need to chat just shout out x
