I have this week been diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma. I feel scared and anxious. I got my diagnosis this Tuesday and because it’s ILC I have to have an MRI because ILC doesn’t always show up that well on mammogram but haven’t heard anything yet. The waiting is the worse; I know that I can deal with something when I know what it is. I also have a serious lung condition and am very scared of having an anaesthetic. Any advice or comments would be so very welcome. Thank you.
Hi Rosebee welcome to the forum. Its a challenging time right now all the waiting around and its hard to keep your mind free from running away with all sorts of thoughts.
I can totally relate to what you are saying as mine was the same type of Breast Cancer as yours and I also had an MRI scan. You will be fully assessed before any Anaesthetic and will be seen by the Anaesthetist and fully advised. It will be ok,but it just doesn't feel like it right now and you will get through this, and I'm here, along with many others, to help and support you as much as we can.
Hi Gail. Could I ask your advice? I had my MRI last Friday and was told that the consultant wouldn’t get the results for 2 weeks. Out of the blue the hospital called me this morning and said the surgeon wants to see me this Thursday and any operation is planned for 9th November. Could you give me any advice on what I should be asking at the appointment on Thursday? Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks Ros.
