I am booked in for surgery on 22/10/21 and still not had a pre-op. Phoned BCN last Friday and today and still nothing booked. I want to scream argh!! I know the surgery is only provisionally booked depending on biopsy results which they should get back on Monday, but I still need a pre-op and need to isolate for 3 days before op after I have had covid pcr test. Running out of time now x
I had my covid test and pre-op on same day, so had pre-op on the Monday and op on the wednesday. You still have time, but you could give them a call to get an update. It is stressful waiting for things to happen!
That's good to know. I have managed to get an appointment on Tuesday for follow up in.clinic to get the hiopsy results and whether I need mastectomy x
I had my covid test and MRSA test on the Friday before my op on the following Monday. My pre op was done over the phone on the Thursday prior to the covid test.
When I arrived at the hospital my height and weight were done. I was then taken to the radiation area to have a radioactive dye injected into my bust.
My local hospital are trying to keep the footfall down to stop the spread of covid.
Don't panic it will be sorted and then you'll wonder what you were worrying about. Good luck and hope to hear that everything went well soon.
They organised it,think hospitals around the country work to individual hospital time scales, depending on how busy they are,but I read somewhere they have a time scale in which to get you sorted,I was about a week out of there time scale,my opp was shedual for 19th Aug,then move to 12th,then moved back to 19th,wasn,t bothered as long as it was in that week.
Am sure you will get it,so please don,t worry, won’t do you any good at end of day.Once they have results of biopsy, that’s when things move forward,so have a nice weekend not thinking about it,try to chill, but do know the waiting is a bloody pain in itself.xx
They often don’t give you the PCR tests results if it’s part of your pre op process, unless it’s positive. The NHS currently requires 3 days isolation before surgery, once the PCR test is done so you don’t pick up COVID between being tested and being admitted.
