Hello to all you brave ladies. I’m on my 2nd EC chemo and I’m due to have one more EC before having 3 Docetaxel sessions. I just typed it in and managed to scare myself with death warnings. Please can you please share your experiences and hopefully calm me down! Thanks Shalli.
Hi Shalli
I had the same chemo regimen as you are on, with trastuzumab and pertusumab thrown in with the docetaxel. I still get the last two every three weeks. The docetaxel regime was different from the EC. By the last round I was feeling rather tired. Also, I had diarrhoea throughout the D, T & P. My oncologist gave me loperamide which I took every day and also codeine to try to control this.
The treatment finished in March and I got a complete pathological clearance. So, no cancer left, when they later removed tissue where the lump had been, nor in the nodes [one had been positive at diagnosis]. So worth it!
There are side-effects but your team will give you support meds to get you through. I only had the above. However, we are all different. They have to put every possible thing that anyone has ever had on the consent forms, just in case. My advice would be don't scare yourself by googling etc. Go into the next regimen with an open mind and ask for help as you need it.
Wishing you all the best

Hi, I had 6 cycles of T HP and worked throughout. I've been blogging and this one might help you on wide effects, good luck
