Nothing but praise for the team in Edinburgh - unclear screen on the 8th resulted in the works today the 29th . Ultrascan biopsy and more mammograms show I m lucky to be picked up!

Screening works … it was still a bit of a moment to be told tho…. One of those slow motion in out camera shots you see on tv - whilst the doctor said ‘ I’ll stop now and give you a moment….
just a minute later I was asking all the questions - luckily my husband was there to remember the answers.
im feeling pretty ok with it - it’s small and hopefully not too much of a battle - I’m feeling like if I have to have cancer then I can take this one on. It’s goosed my plans of spending the winter in the sun with family and friends tho- but we can take that and plan once we get our cancer plan results on the 11th

ive already told my closest and have decided to face this cheerfully and with superwoman pants hitched right up - feel so sorry for droppping a bombshell  and am keen fir them to understand I’m lucky ( I hope)
anyway im glad I’ve found this forum as my early hours wide awake googling wasn’t very helpful and reading your posts has already given me a sense of solidarity.

luv hugs and bestest super pants me xxx

  • Sounds like it has been caught very early and so pleased you had a good experience in Edinburgh. I am also in Scotland and have nothing but total praise for my team, they have been exceptional from the start and everything moved quickly, efficiently and smoothly. I hope you have the same as me where they give you the next appointment when you are at an appointment. I always knew what was coming up, exactly which day I was getting results. I am so grateful for that.

  • I had the same experience of it being picked up on routine screening and when I went for my results the doctors were congratulating themselves on finding it

Its a big shock but your hospital sounds on the ball.

  • It will be an emotional rollercoaster ride this winter but everyone on this forum is here to help and support you.

No question is too daft and if you ever want to vent go ahead.

    take care

Sorry you are here with us  but we are nice people who can sometimes give good advice! It all sounds promising , and you are going to be in for quite some ride on this rollercoaster , but its ok really I had my surgery  waiting for chemotherapy to start some days good some not so good .But surgery  a breeze compared with all the emotional stuff. Its great you have support .  If i could only go back and give myself some advice it would be.   Don't let this ruin your summer ! It will all get sorted and early breast cancer is so treatable these days . So is later stages too just takes more treatment .Take care I'm sure we will chat again before we are both out the other side of this tunnel !

    Cheers
