Hi I'm new here and have been on Letrozole for 6 months now.

One of the side effects I have is, my hair has started to thin.

Has anyone else experienced this and is it permanent?

  • I started mine 3 days ago and am living in fear of the side effects

  • Not experienced hair thinning, in fact getting thicker but need length! Been on letrozole for 8 weeks now and feel old as in stiff joints and muscles, however, keeping active and busy takes it away Flushed

  • Hi. Yes my hair is thining and I've even lost half an eyebrow! But my hair seems to be thining evenly and the eyebrow is kind of quirky. Sunglasses. I think Thinking lol. X

Not as bad as I thought. Been on Letrozole for 6 months now. Keeping active is the key to the stiff muscles.

I always remind myself my chances of survival would be a lot less if I didn't take the tabs.

A small price to pay. Take care

    You're right.

Keeping active is the key. I walk a lot and stretching is good too

  • Hi Weechippy

You are correct about activity keeping the aches at bay. I am a few months in to Letrozole and have hair coming back after chemo. Not thinning, getting thicker, but would love it to be quicker Persevere

As you say, it is a small price to pay and I don't think the SE are nearly as bad as the press.

    Lets all keep moving.

I've been on Letrozole for a couple of months now and my hair is definitely thinning.  I do find myself feeling upset about it from time to time, but like the other people who've responded, I'm not going to stop taking it just for my vanity.  I also get aches and pains (and night sweats / hot flushes).  My hospital (Royal Marsden - NHS) has offered complimentary therapy - Acupuncture - to help with the side effects of this oestrogen-suppressing medication and I've decided to go for it.

  • Hi

Please let us know how you get on with the acupuncture, hope it’s a success for you.
