I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy on 5th August. I have an appointment to get results and to discuss further treatment on Friday. The op was carried out brilliantly - everybody was lovely.
I've been remarkably well really - not too much pain. I have however been quite frustrated with the follow up treatment. I've had visits from district nurses to give me injections and dressing changes.
I am not filled with confidence - a different nurse each time. They don't know what they are here for and therefore do not have the necessary dressings. Again this morning - no dressings - I'm concerned that the dressings are not secure and that they may affect the wound healing.
I've had no luck getting in touch with my allocated nurse who told me if I "have any worries get in touch".
It may seem a minor worry because I do feel okay, but I don't want it all to go wrong.
Sorry for the rant but I am so frustrated because there is no-one to speak to about it.
I will try to be more positive in future posts
