Hello everyone. I’m new to this forum. Hope everything is well.
just wanted some advice and info about your experiences of a mastectomy. My mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer early July and will be having a mastectomy on Monday. I am so nervous!
I was wondering if you could share any experiences, just to know what to expect.
also wanted to ask if any of you had chemo/radiotherapy before or after the surgery.
thank you
Hi I had bilateral mastectomies the operation isn’t that bad pain relief is so good (in fact on 2 nd day post op I didn’t need any) the most awkward thing is the drain she will have in. Take clothes that are easy to put on.
I have had both chemo and radiotherapy and it is doable. I carried on working , walking and riding my tip is take the anti sickness pills they give you and even if you don’t feel
like a walk still go as it helps body cope.
