Hi all. I had surgery for BC on 30th July, therapeutic mammoplasty and reduction in the other for symmetry. Plus SLNB. My tumour was 11mm, hormone + HER2 -
My emotions are all over the place, angry, upset, frustrated! I had my dressing changed last week and was asked if I’d like to look, until that moment I hadn’t realised how scared I was, NO I didn’t want to look. Next step results.
Hi, same surgery as me. I had mine 3rd August, my tumour was 11mm plus SLNB. I am healing very well. Swelling almost gone, bruising on end stage, still waiting for sutures to dissolve. I have taken the step and looked at mine, and it's actually better than I thought it would be. Take your time and do it when your ready. Next step results for me, lymph nodes showed okay on ultrasound and contrast MRI. Best Wishes xxx
Thanks for the reply, really pleased to hear you are healing. I had a contrast Mamogram and ultrasound and lymph nodes looked ok, results at end of the month. I will be brave and have a look at some point, well done to you for taking that step I know it’s a big one. Hope you’re recovery continues to go well xx
Hi, thank you, take the step when you are ready and comfortable to do so, with your bcn by you so she can answer any questions. Wishing you well with your recovery, have you a date yet for your results xx
Is there another bcn you can see. I dont have a date for mine yet, but I have a wound check next monday, so perhaps will no more then. Xx
Hi Nik and Shaz, had my surgery on 2/8/21 no results yet untill 26/8/21 to be honest I'm finding the wait for results a little bit easier than the wait for surgery. I got a tight band like feeling around my chest it's painful hoping that physo will be of help but don't know when they will see me it's all a waiting game. If that would go away I would be fine. My Breast cancer nurse is very good but finding it difficult to make contact with her I expect she is busy. My scar looks ok it's the balls of fat lumps under my arms that are the most disappointing I did not expect that . However I am not planning reconstruction as I feel im too old just want my life back now . X hopefully that will be possible X
Best wishes
Jayne

I also have an assigned breast nurse but I never actually speak to her! I’m not really sure why they bother to assign you one. However, if I call or email the team someone always gets back to me so still try and make contact x
