Hi all

Is it just me or is it normal to constantly keep touching and checking your lump. I've had mine now for 4 weeks and finally got my first appt to get it checked on the 19th.

Obviously hoping for a cyst diagnosis as we all do Pray.

I find myself always touching it, making sure it's no bigger checking for nodules, movement etc. I'm becoming obsessed!! This appt can't come soon enough, it's been an extremely long 5 weeks!!

Hope you're all keeping well.

Xxx

  • Hi, I am waiting for my appointment, not had a date yet.  I  am constantly.checking my lump too.  I wake up in the morning hoping it has disappeared. I have even checked it whilst.in work.  I think it is more in the hope that lump may have got smaller or disappeared.

All the best to you x

  • Yes that's exactly what I'm hoping each time  especially as my GP said it will probably go before the appt and its still there and is getting harder.

I hope you get your appt through soon, the wait is agonising isn't it?

Best of luck to you too xx

  • Nope not just you! I definitely did this, hoping it was gone, thinking it felt smaller, no bigger, had it changed. In the end it started aching so I left it alone, but I don’t think we can help it!! X

  • Hi Anna

Yes mine starts to ache due to the prodding and touching, I'm now trying to leave well alone.

I hope you got the result you wanted xxx

  • I did this and could have sworn it was getting bigger, then smaller. I found out it can around your period when there are more hormones in your system.  I also started to feel tender from the constant poking.  However I have just had my lumpectomy (it was cancer) last week and had the mass measured at 3 separate appointments before this and it hadnt grown at all, it was either my period or imagination. The unknown is so hard to deal with.  Try not to worry unduly, take one day, one step at a time and you will be fine.
