Hi,
Waiting for my scan and mammogram to determine what surgery option i should take. I am finding it really challenging at the moment especially with covid. Trying to decided if going for the least invasive option would be safer.
Hi, i have developed a seroma and wondered what you did when you had one. I am really struggling at the moment. I thought i was sorted with tumours completely responding to chemo to find out the opposite has occurred. I am putting a brave face on it in front of the kids but inside i just want to cry.
Oh bless you. Mine was not so bad so I didn’t have to have it drained, I took some pain meds (ibuprofen and paracetamol to help me sleep as it was uncomfortable at night). I called the cancer care team and they talked to me on the phone about whether or not it could be infected. It was not hot to touch and I didn’t have a temperature, so we concluded it was ok. I did talk to the breast surgeon about it at my follow up and he was reluctant to drain it and it went away within a couple of weeks. Maybe have a chat to your nurse in the morning. Sending positive thoughts your way, and keep chatting on here if that helps xx
You're seeing your surgeon tomorrow, good timing to check out the seroma (if I have got the days right)
Saw the consultant today and he told me the second operation clearing my remaining lymph nodes has come back clear. He also drained 100mls from my armpit which feels so much better. Just so relieved.
Thank you. It was great news. Had my porta cath put in on Thursday which went well. Starting my Kadcyla on Monday.
How are you doing now you have finished radiotherapy? I have been told that i can have radiotherapy over 5 days instead of 15 with a higher dose. Was wondering if anyone else has had this or heard of it.
Hi there, I finished a week ago. I had 5 days full breast and 5 days “booster” which was targeted to the area of the lump. My skin is fine, but the area is quite tender and swollen in some areas. The oncologist said this was normal at this time, but to let her know if it continues after 2-3 weeks. No tiredness or anything which is good!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
