Hi all,
New to the group and wanted to say hello!
Im 53yrs and I was diagnosed 3rd July and had 2nd chemo yesterday. Sickness and fatigue is getting to me, but that did warm me the Red Devil does this. Such a mixed bag of emotions.
I am just trying to navigate the site etc, as not the best with technology. So many threads, didn’t want to repeat anything, and they look very helpful and supportive.
Take care all x
Hi
Welcome to the site. I also had the red devil treatment this time last year. It wasn't pleasant, but I got there.
I used effervescent paracetamol and buscopan for gastric cramps. Hot water bottles and slept when I needed to. The fatigue is very real, and it accumulates through the treatments. Be kind to yourself and listen to your body. I found that if I didn't nap and tried to work through the tiredness, it made me feel really nauseous. Tell your cancer care team at next appointment about the nausea. They gave me stronger antisickness tablets before my treatment and for 5 days afterwards. That really helped.
I wish you well. Be kind to yourself. Sending hugs xx
Hi Missmolly,
Thank you, totally agree. Naps really do help, hadn’t thought of hot water bottle so will give it a go. X
