Capecitabine

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have Breast Cancer. I’m on Capecitabine and so far I haven’t had any side effects from it. I’ve had two cycles of the drug so far and will be starting my third cycle on Saturday. If you haven’t already been given information about this drug you will find it on the treatments A-Z section of the Macmillan website. It gives a list of the possible side effects from this drug.

Thanks for that Daisy, I have been given all the information of potential side effects but just wanted to hear from someone who is actually taking it as there are so many possible ones. I've only been taking it for 5 days and feel fine but I know it's early days. It's still very scary though. I'm so glad to hear that your doing ok on it, makes me feel so much better

Morning and Daisy53 how are things going with the Capecitabine?  I am on day 10 of my 1st cycle.  I'm feeling ok apart from the tiredness which could be down to other medication I have too.  I'm hoping this drug can stabilise my tumour.

I have just finished my 6th cycle and am feeling fine, first few cycles had some nausea but this settled down. Still going to work and carrying on as usual. I was really scared when I first started but have to say it's been nowhere near as bad as I imagined. Just waiting for next scan appointment to see if it's working! Fingers crossed
