I have recently been diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer on 7th May. So very new.
So far I've had 2 oncologist appointments, MRI Scan and blood test. I finished my work on Thursday, to isolate before the chemo starts on 2nd June.
This week I have a CT scan, a pre assessment and another oncologist appointment.
I can't get my head round how quickly everything is moving. Is this normal?
Has anyone else recently been diagnosed with Triple Negative?
Thanks
Hi Bizzy bee
I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer last September. It's quite normal for everything to move quickly as triple negative is the more aggressive form of Breast Cancer but like all cancers is very treatable if caught early enough. I had eight sessions of chemo 4 of AC and 4 of Taxol.
Wishing you all the best for your treatment and if you have anymore questions I'm very happy to answer them for you.
Best wishes

Thank you Daisy53,
I've been told I'm having 4 sessions
Of Carboplatin and paclitaxel. And 3 sessions of FEC.
And I've been invited to take part in research study for Olaparib. If I get selected.
Im just worried on how my body will react to the chemo and waiting for it to start.
Xx
Hi Bizzy Bee
While chemo is hard at times it is doable. You will find the nurses on the oncology ward very helpful and they will answer any questions that you have. Chemo effects everyone differently but if you are lucky you won't get too many side effects. The worst side effect I got was losing my hair and I soon got used to it and used a turban when going to the Oncology ward for my treatments. You will be given the phone number of the oncology ward before you start treatment so that you can contact the ward if you feel really sick and they will adjust your chemo if need be to lessen the side effects. You should also be given a prescription for anti-sickness meds to take if you feel sick.
Hope this helps.
xx
