Hello, I was diagnosed had removal of my Grade 3 tumour with - 1 SN + 1 SN -.  I had my first chemo yesterday.  Today has been an odd day, feeling nauseas and told to take the tablets every day which I have.  This afternoon my face seems to be getting redder and redder.  I have taken my temp but seems normal.  Anyone else had this?

  • Hi there. Does your array of meds include steroids? Those make my face and neck flush like crazy, during the three days I take them and for about 2 days after. It eases off after that however. Might be worth a quick call to your Breast Cancer Nurse if you’re still concerned.

  • Hi Scaredbutpositive

if you are on steroids to help prevent side effect that is more than likely causing the redness in your face. When I was having chemo I had to take steroids for three days afterwards and my face neck and chest turned red while I was taking them and for a couple of days afterwards. I got my Onology team to prescribe me an antihistamine which helped with the hot flushes.

Best of luck for the rest of your treatment.
