3 years after being diagnosed with DCIS, 2 operations and radiotherapy, it is back and need a mastectomy. I didn't feel ready to going any groups last time but would like to connect with people going through something similar.
My surgery is currently penciled in for the end of June
Hi Granny59.
It really is the gift that keeps on giving. At the moment I have accepted that I need to have the operation. I was confused about whether to have reconstruction using my back muscle or not but that has been ruled out now. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders as I now don't need to make a decision x
Hiya I had a mastectomy just over 8 weeks ago. Details in my profile. I got immediate reconstruction with an implant and it’s been fine. No major issues. Do they do receptor tests on DCIS or is that just for invasive growths? I’m on tamoxifen for at least 5yrs as estrogen +ve.
