Hi was your s negative or positive please

my wife is p8 her2 negative

  • Hi , so glad that your wife has had her surgery and that hurdle is done and over with.  Hopefully her nodes come back clear.

I was Her2 -ve and hormone positive too.  For me this means I will have to take hormone blockers for 5 years to help prevent the cancer recurring and to starve and kill off any stray cells that might have been left behind.  I imagine your wife will also be given hormone blockers too - her doctors or oncologist will let her know.

Thanks for that so much to take in hope your ok too she’s on strong pain killers now trying to sleep only just over a day now so early days

    best wishes

    kevin

  • I'm all done with treatment and cancer free now - just the daily hormone blocker to take.

It's a stressful process and definitely a lot to take in as treatment is specific to each person.  Just keep asking the doctors any questions you have.

I was on strong pain killers too, there is no need to be in pain and the whole process of healing is much easier if you can be pain free.

Wishing you and your wife all the best while you wait for results.
