Hi

I had a mastectomy and lymph node removal November 2020 and as I also have congenital heart disease! I’m unable to have chemotherapy or radiotherapy and have to have Bisphosphonates treatment I was wondering if anyone else on the forum had any experience of this type of treatment? xx

  • Hi Illy

I have had a dose of Bisphosphonate along with one of my chemos - Zoledronic Acid. It was ok, no side-effects to report. I have to get 5 more doses at 6 monthly intervals.  I have seen a few of us in this forum are having this. Also good to read the information - it is important to tell your dentist that you have had this.

Glad your surgery is in the past and good luck.

    Big hugs

  • Hi

I’m having a bisphosphonate infusion every 6 months for the next 3 years alongside Goserelin implants and Letrozole. I’ve had one so far, back in September. The infusion itself was very easy but I did have flu-like side effects for several days afterward ( my joints were really painful the day after but that quickly passed) I understand from my oncologist that the side effects are often the worst after the first time and not so bad for the rest. My next infusion is at the start of April.

I didn’t manage to get a dental checkup before I started but have managed to book one for next month - I just mentioned bisphosphonates  and was fitted in !
