Going through treatment at the moment but don’t really know what to eat so I want to find out if anyone here eats potatoes I miss them. Horrible taste in my mouth all the time I just can’t wait to finish my remaining 12 cycles of chemo am so scared
Hi Pulsy,
Sorry to hear you are struggling. It is a daunting and emotional time.
I have just done my 3rd cycle out of 12 paclitaxel and I too have a yucky taste in my mouth all of the time! I haven’t had any real sickness just my taste buds are off. So I have decided to eat everything I would normally eat, including potatoes. I find it helps to make sure the food is not too hot to avoid any burns. Also I’ve used bonjela for any sores in my mouth - recommended by my chemo nurse. Sipping cold water helps me, also eating cold grapes is refreshing. I’ve seen a few recommendations for pineapple helping - so I might add pineapple juice to my next food shop.
sending positive vibes to you and hoping treatment is do-able and the weeks tick off quickly for you xx
Joesdog, thank you so much for the recommendation I will try and see if it helps
