I am quite a way through treatment (see profile) surgery x 2, chemo, radiotherapy and hormone therapy. Now trying to remember who I was before I became a cancer patient and find out how other women in a similar situation are doing and feeling.

  • Welcome to the site , I have just read your bio and you have certainly had an "interesting " journey. Glad to hear that the major part of your journey is now behind you and hopefully you are now looking forward to a "new normal" life. Your outlook will have changed I would suspect , it has for me both times (see my bio if you wish ) but you have been given a second chance by all your treatments to get on with the living in whatever way suits you. I found that many of my friends were very unsure whether to talk about my cancer with me or not ,but I tried to be as open as possible. You are still you, even after all your treatments and what you choose to do now  is entirely your choice, now that you have HAD cancer. We can be very grateful to our teams and the NHS. for getting us through this in these strange covid times. I know from past experience that we will be followed up with annual mammo. and that this raises the worry level , but the relief after the all clear (hopefully) is fantastic.I don't think that the original diagnosis ever leaves you but it does recede in importance.
I have found the support on here to be great and follow several of the chat themes on here especially the "AWAKE" one - there 24/7 for everyone  at whatever stage they are in their journey .Just take a look and join in by introducing yourself - all welcome. Glad to hear that your Letrozole isn't causing you too many side effects ( same for me ) .Wishing you all you wish for yourself and more xxx
