Hi I finished my radium treatment and am now 2 months into taking letrozole tablets. What time of day do you recommend me to take them?
I take them at bedtime and find an hour later I am having hot flushes, no other effects and I can live with these. Would it be better for me to take the tablets in the morning?

thanks

  • Hi

I've always taken mine in the evening, when I took some brands that didn't agree with me it was better to 'suffer' achey bones/joints whilst asleep rather than whilst waking.  I'm sure there's good reasons for taking them in the morning too (improve sleep for light sleepers?).

I guess the question for you is which is better - flushes in the day or at night?  I get both!

You could always experiment with the time of day you take letrozole and see what happens...

Not sure if you've seen the 'oestrogen reducing meds' (or something like that) thread that's pinned to the top of the 'diagnosis & treatment' section, you may find some useful info in there.

  • Hi, I was advised by my breast care nurse to take them at night for the same reasons that gives. I still get some hot flushes , usually on waking and then in the late afternoon/early evening. But they soon pass I have found  and are not too intrusive.  It seems that some ladies find it better to take them in the morning - perhaps try for a week and see how it works for you. We all react differently , the most important thing is to take them if you are able to, without too many side effects for you xxx Kwissy
