Hi All,
New to the breast cancer forum but my story starts with lung cancer and only through the PET Scan (mid-2020) did they know I had breast cancer, at the time 8mm. They decided to put the breast cancer on hold while I had treatment for the lung cancer which I finished in mid-Dec, had scans about 2-3 weeks ago to check on both lung and breast to see where we are at. I have been told today the the breast scan showed that the lump in my breast is now 19mm and both myself and the consultant believes this has grown since the scan, so I will be having a lumpectomy within the next couple of weeks and then atezolizumab treatment for the lung.
Has anyone else had atezolizumab as I have heard that this can be used for both lung and breast cancer?
I don't know much about treatment for breast cancer as I and the NHS concentrated more on the lung part. It would be good to hear from anyone if they have been in the type of situation as this as I feel I have been non-stop since I was diagnosed and it is diffcult to comprehend sometimes.
Many thanks
Karen
Hi Karen welcome to the forum and I am so sorry to hear about all that has been happening for you, You have been through the mill by the sounds of things.
I havent been in the same situation as you but Im sure some of the other lovely folks on here will be able to be of help for you and maybe explain a bit more about the drugs thta you are asking about. Sorry not to have been of more help at this time. xx
Hi
I'm afraid I also don't have experience to share. I've done a quick search of the group and can't find anything, either.
Hopefully bumping this back up might get you some more replies - we are a fast-moving group and things can drop off the first couple of pages quite quickly.
Treatment for breast cancer can vary - surgery is the big player and some people have just that. for others it's combined with radiotherapy and then there some who get chemo added in as well.
If you have any other questions, ask away and in the meantime, hopefully someone with similar experience will come along.

thank you Gail and Ronstar, Hopefully someone else who has been diagnosed with 2 primary cancers and anyone that knows whether atezolizumab will also work with the breast side of things will reach out. So far, as mentioned will have the lump removed (week on Thurs) but then back onto the lung/adrenal gland treatment which seems to be the priority. Here's hoping that'll be the end of the breast cancer but they will do regular checks and we can concentrate on the other one.
Keeping positive, not giving into the little wotsit!!!
