Hi I’ve just joined this group I was diagnosed with TNBC last October. I’ve just finished 12 weeks of chemo paclitaxol and carboplatin but I had a genetic test for BRCA1 gene mutation which came back negative so dropped carbo half way through. My tumour was a grade 3 and hasn’t spread to lymph nodes as far as we can see from biopsy and scans and by week 6 of chemo the tumour seemed to disappear. This was confirmed by my MRI scan just before Xmas. I start second chemo in Feb which is EC. I see you mention TNBC to the the worst one I would recommend not reading about TNBC on google just read the leaflets and information on trusted websites like this one. Are you having chemo before surgery?
Hi Montes,
Thanks for your message. I start chemo before surgery. My tumor is 22mm. It is good to know your tumor has shrunk. Do you know what size it was? Mine hasnt spread to nodes yet hopefully it remain the same until they start my treatment.xx
Hi Raf44 mine was 22mm too.....good luck with your treatment the good thing with TNBC is that it responds well to chemo and unlike other breast cancers I understand after 3 years your chances of it coming back is greatly reduced rather than 5 years with the other types xx stay positive xx
