Got told dcis on 4th I'm now getting mastectomy and lymph node removal just wandering could it have spread or am I just being paranoid it's just in the past few weeks till now its gone from part removal to all and lym nodes
Hello, love the user name. I had DCIS in 2015 and had lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy. I had two small areas 11mm & 5mm. Only the 11mm had DCIS the other area was benign.
I assume they are doing a mastectomy due to area of DCIS?

It's a shock, isn't it when they change treatment plans. I think the best thing to do would be to contact your breast clinic for a chat - do you have a Breast Cancer Nurse or keyworker? You should be able to have a chat with them if you are unsure or need answers. We all tend to go blank when we have the results appointments and then get home and realise we have a million questions. You might want to keep a notebook or list of your questions to go through next time you have a chance - it can help remind you in a stressful situation.
Another thing you could try is to post in our Ask a Nurse section - they are really helpful and should be able to give you some answers although, obviously they don't know your personal case.
