Hi I was diagnosed with hormone receptor positive breast cancer in October I've had 2 operations including a removal of lymph nodes after it had spread to lymph. I'm due to start chemotherapy in January & feeling a little apprehensive, was wondering if anyone had any advice etc on extra vitamins etc to take prior to starting. Thanks again
H Rubii welcome to the community . We know you'd rather not be here but it's the right place to be for support and answers from people who know ,
youll find my story by clicking on my name feel free to read if you wish .
My chemo finished Dec 2019 best advice would be take a breath you've had your ops and hopefully been told cancer free . Now the next step chemo which will not be as bad as your imagination is telling you . Not pleasant but doable because we're all stronger than we think and if we feel rough with chemo it means it's doing it's job .
I didn't take any added vitamins but someone may come on with that advice . Didn't have much time for that 8 days diagnosis to op then 6 weeks recovery to chemo . I just made sure diet was healthy and built up exercise ( mainly walking ) in the 6 weeks prior .Have a look around the threads you'll find plenty of info and a friendly welcome from everyone .
There is a chemo thread for January and the ladies from December chemo will be found on there . There were quite a few new members on the Dec chemo which you can link up with and share experiences .
longer term members like myself tend to hover around several threads ready to offer advice and support if we can.The Awake discussion is a busy thread with lots of humour and banter as well as oodles of experience .
feel free to ask any questions or just jump in and chat
Hi Rubi,
I am in a very similar position. Diagnoed in October. Lumpectomy in December- er positive and chemo due to start in January. Feeling very anxious I have to say. Though I’m sure once I have one session out the way it’ll be better. I’m also from the north ( (Cheshire). Good luck Liz
Northerner I dont come on here much now but when I do I always read what you say and I think you are amazing and strong and always take time to talk to everyone
Love julie
