Please read my forum, if interested and shout if I can help anyone. You will see that I have had quite a year. I knew it would be a hard one but I did not know quite how hard!

That is now done and dusted. I am post successful surgery and about to start radio and hormone tablets. Yum yum!

Welcome 2021!

  • Welcome , you have had quite a year ! Glad to hear that you have completed successful surgery - so now your cancer has GONE Congratulations! Your ongong treatment is belts and braces to prevent recurrence. The 5 days of Radiotherapy will be over before you realise. I had the 5 day course at the end of June and found it quite manageable, I hope you do too. Do you know which hormone tablet you will be having ? Although the side effects are much the same for all of them , we all react individually. If you have any questions you have come to the right place. Take a look at some of the other threads - I particularly like the AWAKE one -almost always someone on there 24/7. Good for advice and joining in the fun - yes really. You will soon see why we call ourselves "fruit loops"  !! Enjoy the rest of the holiday and do keep in touch xx

  • Hi GladysHannah,  so good and encouraging to hear how well you doing.  I was diagnosed about a week ago with lumpectomy planned for 16th Jan.  Really hoping I will follow the route you have and avoid chemo.  I don't mind the rest so long as the outcome is to be rid of this awful disease.  I'd even take the chemo of course but hoping not.  The AWAKE thread is great and has really helped me. Here is the direct link if you are interested https://community.macmillan.org.uk/cancer_types/breast-cancer-forum/f/breast-cancer-forum/128753/awake

Wishing you all the best with the rest of your treatment plan.

    Hi Kwissy

Yes. Cancer free. Yippee!!  Great to hear your experience with radio but feel nervous about the side effects of Letrozole. I know I may not experience them but....

Thanks for your positivity. Champagne glass

Aww, thank you so much for the link. I will definitely try it. Good luck with the op. Don’t try to do too much. I felt so good initially after my op, that I ran before I could walk and then ended up feeling totally wiped out. Remember there are internal stitches that you cannot see, which dissolve after several weeks.

All the very best to you. Fingers crossedRainbow

  • Hi @GladysHannah,  My experience with Letrozole has been much better than it was with Tamoxifen and Anastrazole Combined (see my profile if you wish-just click on my name). I do get hot flushes but not such that I can't cope with them and the odd sensation of feeling cold too. My advice would be to give it a try and bear in mind that the side effects seem to ease off after you have been taking them for a few months.I was told initially that if the side effects were too bad to cope with that a different drug could be prescribed- hope this helps.Sending big hugs to you and hoping that you stay positive xxKwissy

  • Thank you and I will definitely try to take it easy after the op.  Slight smile  Hope you are doing well.

Hi Kwissy. This must have been so awful for you, after all these years clear. It sounds like your cancer is similar to mine. Same treatment and my radio is for 5 days too. Thanks for the positive feedback back. Fingers crossedFingers crossedPrayPray
